Argnode is small and young in its current form. One specialist does the work, and signs off on all of it. Here is who that is, and what we are building towards.
The specialist
Niklas Rantanen
Founder and lead specialist. A decade in digital agencies, enterprise-scale Google Ads accounts, and web and app analytics built for multinational brands. Google Ads and Analytics certified, on top of a medical-electronics engineering degree.
Niklas writes the code, builds the analytics and runs the servers. He also shoots and edits the video, makes the graphics and writes the copy.
Most agencies split that work between a creative and an engineering. Here it is one person. Nothing gets lost in the handover, because there is no handover.
The assistants
John is the first AI assistant Argnode has hired, and for now the only one. It runs on our own hardware, not in somebody else's cloud, so the client data it touches never leaves the building. We are open about what it is, because a machine you can point at is easier to trust than one you cannot.
John
A generalist, and the one that keeps the paperwork straight.
What it does
John searches the project database and the customer records, and it summarises tasks and notes. It reads our project management system directly, so it answers from the live state of the work rather than from a copy. That is the whole job. It has no client contact, no budget and no say in the work.
What it runs on
A Raspberry Pi 5 with a proper SSD, which holds a vector database for RAG and search it fast. Inference runs next to it on a single RTX 4090. Both sit on our own network, so nothing leaves for a third party to answer a question.
The list will get longer, because mechanical work keeps turning up. The creative work is not on it. Read what we hand to AI for where the line sits and why.
What comes next
Argnode has run since 2018, but the company in this form is new. We are laying groundwork.
That groundwork is automation, and it exists for a specific reason. It covers the mechanical work, so the money goes to expertise instead of overhead. The next thing we add is not more software. It is another specialist. If that sounds like you, we say what we look for on the careers page.
